Knuckles Olbermann gets sort of wacky in the last third.

Jeff Fries What are these boys doing on my soup bowl?
Caminante Nocturno That 9/11 video convinced me never to vote republican for as long as I live.
Rodents of Unusual Size Olbermann has been all but choking on his rage lately. He's slightly less coherent than usual, but still, 5 stars for calling them all out on this shit.
Cleaner82 It's too bad he's marginalized himself, because this is as beautiful a thing as he's ever done.
HankFinch I really liked Keith at first, but I can't stand him now. It started as something sweet, but crystalized into something pointed, jagged and painful.

almo inside job lol

Cena_mark Shut up Queef Olbermann. You worthless Murrow wannabe. He's not black mailing us, by saying "I won't catch Bin Laden if you don't elect me" Its that he needs to be elected to catch Bin Laden because he needs the power and resources of the president to do so.
Good night and you suck.
SolRo Just admit that the last thing you pigfuckers want is bin laden in a jail, it would remove that one extra fearmongering talking point for you jackasses every 2 years.
Jeff Fries He's twice the man Murrow was, skull-wise
almo poeTV is why i don't bother voting
Cena_mark Bush wasn't the right man to catch Bin Laden. It'll take McCain with those powers. Bush mainly focused on keeping us safe and he did despite liberal schemes to sabotage him. I want Bin Laden caught. What you call "Fear mongering" is just a reminder that we still are at war with terror.
SolRo WE ARE AT WAR WITH TERROR! WE MUST BAN ALL SCARY MOVIES!
Cena_mark Olbermann is the one who wants to ban the scary 911 movies. He wants us to forget and to become complacent. He wants our minds asleep so that the terrorists can slowly take over.

Stog Good lord, listen to you people overreacting to a wigger who likes it when John Cena sits on his face throwing out random lines about Keith Olbermann. I like Olbermann and I am saddened and pleased that he's the only one attempting to call out the Republicans on their bullshit, but I think he's gotten hell of hammy.
The 9/11 "tribute" was fucking disgusting, but this is par for the course. I can expect a lot more of this kind of shit in the future until 9/11 is no longer profitable. 9/11 is a dead horse being beaten for political and warmongering purposes. 9/11 no longer reminds me of the attacks that happened on September 11th, but of how it's been mangled and twisted into something far more unrecognizable and cynical. September 11th 2: September 11ther. September 11th 3: September 11th With a Vengeance. September 11th 4: The Liberal Menace. September 11th 5: Invisible War. September 11th 6: 11 September 11ths Later.
And then there will be the direct-to-DVD offshoots: Robo-Osama vs. Bushitlar. The Cheneynator. To L Paul Bremer: Thanks for Everything! and the best one of all, Bill Kristol's Scary Movie (a movie that cancels itself out and disappears when you take the DVD out from the package).
Also: Bush had seven years to catch Osama and fucked everything up in the process. Why do I want to give four more years to a confused warmongering man who essentially is the same as Bush? I won't. Unless I can fuck his hot vice president/third wife.
karl hungus oh cena, that's a good boy, you drink all the cum, drink it up!
FABIO2 I think I finally figured out why I don't like Olbermann: his delivery sounds like something that would come out of Rush in an alternate Bizarro dimension where Limbaugh was right instead of a shill, but still just as annoying.
j lzrd / swift idiot I'M MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!
Cena_mark Olbermann is just pissed off cause he lost many friends on that day. His friends were the hijackers.

StanleyPain I think it says a lot about the current political climate in America that someone like Olbermann is so routinely dismissed for such amazingly shallow reasons. "Oh, he pontificates too much" or "Oh, I don't like how he talks." etc...
Countdown is THE ONLY, repeat, THE ONLY mainstream news show on a major cable network that ever devoted any time to covering the in-depth details of the numerous Bush Administration scandals, short of doing full-on documentaries on it (like, say, Frontline). The show routinely lays out the paths of the scandals, who is involved, why they are involved, etc. etc. Despite the obvious leaning to the left of the show, it is probably one of the most informed political analysis shows on television, and does without the fanfare of ludicrous on-air arguments and counter-pounding blowhards saying controversial things to sell their next book. And amazingly enough, despite not being anywhere near as over the top as something like, say, O'Reilly Factor, this show which actually cares about factual details (and thus might be categorized as boring) manages to keep competitive ratings, which means at least as many people watch it as veg out in front of Fox for a free lobotomy.
Yes Olbermann gets preachy once and awhile. To dismiss him and his show solely for that is fucking ridiculous. And it's precisely the kind of thinking the right-wing has hoped to indoctrinate everyone with over the last decade or so: make sure that your politicians, authority figures, and anyone you get information from are judged NOT on the CONTENT of what they say or do, but how they "come off." Look where we are at right now...instead of serious issues at the forefront of politics, the news is dominated by this "pig in lipstick" bullshit which was specifically engineered FOR THAT VERY PURPOSE.
Olbermann has his flaws, but he's easily one of the best television hosts and journalists to reach this state of mainstream in a very long time. I will gladly, GLADLY take a "Murrow-wannabe" any day over most of what passes for TV personalities nowadays.
Did any other mainstream TV journalist/host/whoever make ANY kind of passionate statement about the 9/11 film at the RNC? If so, I'm curious who did and on what network, because all I saw was the usual talking head bullshit.
