You know despite this guy constantly saying "explain this to me" I doubt he would ever actually stick around to hear or comprehend the answer if someone actually gave it to him.
And you know what else? What's with Twinkies? I mean...dey got da cream on da inside, right? How'd get in dere? Youze atheist assholes gonna use your science to explain dat?

This should be hilarious, but instead it just makes me unutterably sad.
This man can't have an IQ higher than 75. I'll eat a dick if he even finished high school. He's shockingly ignorant, but also, somehow, highly opinionated and bellicose. Despite all this, he gets to vote, and breed, and possibly own guns.
|Cena_mark - 2008-09-18 |
I like how you jokers just make fun of him yet you're unable to debunk his conclusions or answer his questions.
I didn't realize anyone here was stupid enough to NEED answers to his questions.
I'll give you a serious rebuttal, though not particularly long.
Fish haven't "evolved" to avoid hooks because hooks are not a natural mechanism. They are men interfering with the life cycle of fish to catch them (more on that later). There is no possible way that evolution can catch up to compete with man-made ways of killing an organism. This is why conservation is important.
Idiots can also ask things like "why haven't fish evolved to avoid bears catching them and eating them?" Because nature isn't retarded. Bears need to eat. bears have been designed to catch fish. Fish have been designed with advantages to help avoid bears (live underwater, fast, agile, etc...), but nature would certainly not grant every eco-system invulnerable animals who constantly avoided death. Evolution and nature is about competition and keeping animals on their toes, for the most part. (though there are exceptions)
But, going into the hooks thing again, why do hooks even exist? because they are part of mankind's ability to use higher brain power to use tools to catch food. Therefore, mankind evolved into a higher thinking animal capable of such solutions to his problems. So maybe a better question would be "where did the hooks come from?" as opposed to why fish don't avoid them, which is a retarded argument to make anyway.
These people always fall back on "well, God made it that way" or some such nonsense which makes them far more unwilling to actually think about an issue. You can't "debunk" that kind of retardedness, and that's how creationists get by. by creating arguments so ridiculous or restrictive, you can't debunk them, just like the Kent Hovind example in the video.
planets A, are not perfectly round, and B, they were not created from an explosion.
hydrogen formed clouds in space, basically from becoming more dense other elements were created. as the mass grew, so did the gravitation pull off the mass, which started attracting more mass.
when the mass started colliding, it accreted into larger bodies, such as planetesimals, which had their own gravitational pull and attracted more mass creating bodies the sizes of planets.
there i disproved him. geology 101.
HURF BLURF DUH
I will go ahead and add on to Stanley's points in a serious manner even though mark clearly doesn't deserve it.
- When you consider the total number of fish in all the bodies of water on Earth, the number of fish who actually get caught with hooks is a very small percentage. The majority of fish live out their lives in their lakes and oceans and never come in contact with humans and hooks. Evolutionary factors need to be consistent, persistent, and constant.
- THE EARTH IS BILLIONS OF YEARS OLD. The entire point of evolution is that minor, miniscule changes, over an EXTREMELY LONG period of time, like far longer than your Bible-addled brain can possibly grasp, add up to major changes and development of species. No one, not Darwin not ANYONE, ever claimed that evolution works to make significant changes over the course of 1,000, or even 100,000 years.
It's been, what, maybe 10 or 20 thousand years since humans invented and mastered the fish hook? That is not nearly enough time to give rise to species of fish who can know to avoid hooks, even IF my above point were not true, and even IF humans never advanced their own techniques for baiting and camouflaging hooks, which they have.
There, that's a genuine refutation of this video's points, which you will now gleefully ignore, I have no doubt.
In a further related note, in major fishing zones some species of fish are getting smaller each generation. The reason is due to smaller fish escaping the nets (the primary way fishing is done, not hooks), therefore surviving to pass on their genes. In other words fish are evolving to escape nets. If hooks affected the survival rate of millions of fish in a population, or were used over an extremely long period, such evolution could very well occur.
While this out pour of response got Cena_mark erect, he can only climax at the sound of someone bashing the "liberal media" in person.

What I'll never understand is why some Christians feel the need to defend impossible stands against science. Seriously, this battle was lost with Copernicus. If it wasn't readily visible by instruments, our poster would be insisting that the planets are carried on spheres that are arranged in orbits around the Earth.
Isn't the graceful way out simply to back away from all of this as the greatness in the nuts and bolts of God's work? Then you can let science be science, not look like such an idiot, and spend your time dealing with important moral questions. Who knows, maybe trolling is more fun.
I'd like to see them defend why humans are the only species that have to clean themselves after they defecate.
God's miracle! Wet feces all over your ass and pus erupting out of your face.
