When watching this, keep in mind that the people wearing the riot gear are not police. They are young men between 18 and 24 performing their mandatory military service. They don't even get paid for their work.
Poor bastards. One friend of mine has amazing scars from the APEC summit in Busan. He was hit with a molotov cocktail and while on fire was beaten senseless by the rest of the crowd.

In a lot of workplaces in the U.S., things aren't even allowed to go even close to this far. I can't count all the places I've worked where just saying "hey guys, let's organize against management!" would not only guarantee you getting fired but possibly arrested too. I think a lot of unions are really corrupt in this country but I say let's reform them and let them be the thing they're supposed to be, not get rid of them.

I live in a right to work state, which is good, cause I don't want to join a union. All the unions did in these jobs were keep lazy assholes from getting fired. Hell the unions destroyed the Big 3 automakers. When the Japanese build plants in the US they keep the UAW out, that's why they're still running strong while GM, Ford, and Chrysler are tanking.

Cena_mark - 2008-10-06 Its the UAW's fault because under the wages they're paying to their employees they can't sell cars at prices low enough to compete with the Japanese. If they could pay an employee what he's worth and not an inflated union wage then they could compete.

YOUR ANSWER explains why American cars cost more than comparable Japanese cars, which makes you look retarded, because American cars DON'T cost more than comparable Japanese cars. MY QUESTION was how it is the UAW's fault that American cars devalue so much faster than comparable Japanese cars (while at the same time requiring more maintenance.)

Equality? Fairness? In every society where the people were all economically equal they were equally miserable. We have equality under the judgment of law that is equal enough. We may not be economically equal, but we have a great standard of living in the U.S. In fact the average "poor" person in the states lives better than the average European.
Fairness? Sorry buddy, but Its not fair if you take my money (i.e. what portion of my life I used to get that money) and redistribute it to folks who don't work.
Sorry, that shit might get you an "A" in intro to sociology, but it gets you an "F" in the great halls of Cena_mark University.
