Oh, EliteXC, you are so, so, so doomed. Random pink-haired goober cleans the clock of your biggest star in fourteen goddamn seconds, and then the kid can't even cut a decent promo to save his life.

Cena_mark - 2008-10-06

This isn't bad news for EliteXC. It doesn't mean that Kimbo was an over hyped phony like the haters say. It means that Seth Pretruzelli is the greatest fighter in MMA history. Now EliteXC needs to roll with that and give Seth well deserved hype.

IrishWhiskey - 2008-10-06

Of course they aren't doomed. Fake, rigged fighting has been commercially successful for years as evidenced by WWF, WWE and boxing.

"Seth Pretruzelli is the greatest fighter in MMA history"
Hahahahaha

simon666 - 2008-10-07

Kimbo has reasonable words after the fight, basically saying neither fighter trained for the other, and in cases like that, this stuff happens. No granted, if Kimbo wasn't some hyped up rookie, this would have been a longer fight. But I have to agree, EliteXC is on its way out.

Cena_mark - 2008-10-07

Fights in the WWE may often be predetermined but at Wrestlemania 23 HHH was supposed to beat Cena, but Cena made it a shoot fight and won the match.

You mean you're real. You're really this stupid.

CornOnTheCabre - 2009-07-11

i'm so sad that I missed this thread the first time it rolled around

one BILLION stars

also lol at anyone who wasn't sure that this was the absolute end of EliteXC

Richmond - 2009-08-21

The even crazier thing is I figured a real fight breaking out at Wrestlemania couldn't be true, so I Googled it. I'm no wrestling fan, but it seems they didn't even face each other in that event.

The realization of what every MMA fan has been saying for pretty much forever. I love it. This does not bode well for EliteXC, however, which was already in a bit of trouble. This troubles me for two reasons: 1) Free MMA is generally always better than no MMA, and 2) My jiu-jitsu instructor is their current bantamweight champ.

dancingshadow - 2008-10-06

Looked like such a flimsy 3 inch jab too.

"This is the part where I fall down."

Frank Rizzo - 2008-10-06

thank you for not ruining the ending in the description.

Dr Dim - 2008-10-06

10-4 against legitimate opponents beats 4-0 against mostly bums. It's a credit to the dickhead announcers that they immediately spin this into an amazing upset victory. Meanwhile Ken Shamrock is changing his phone number, I imagine he's not too popular with EliteXC right now.

Also what does the ref do at 2:20? YEEEEHAW

Dr Dim - 2008-10-06

"The promoter kinda hinted to me, and they gave me money to stand and trade with him. They didn't want me to take him down. Let's just put it that way." Seth Petruzelli

lol

sosage - 2008-10-07

Would someone please level Kimbo Slice's fighting skills up so I can give a shit about this boring ass sport again?

I'm going back to watching Muay Thai or traditional boxing.

Cena_mark - 2008-10-07

sosage_eater, MMA is way better than Muay Thai or Traditional Boxing. EliteXC just isn't the place to watch it. If you want to see awesome real fights just go to UFC or WWE.

Dr Dim - 2008-10-07

That's what MMA needs, more juiced up brawlers swinging for the fences.

sosage - 2008-10-07

...as opposed to juiced up ex-high school wrestlers, rolling around on the floor grinding each other into submission.

oogaBooga - 2008-11-17

Kimbo fell, Seth capitalized. Oh well.

Still shamrock would have been so intimidated he would have gotten his ass beat. Seth was in opportunist mode, the best mode for MMA fighters to be in.

Somehow I think kimbo was hoping his aggressiveness or reputation would somehow help out against someone who didnt already assume he had lost the fight before it began.

It really is a mental game as well as a physical.
