"Summative"?

Johnny Roastbeef - 2008-10-14

Yes, as in it adds each picture to the previous picture, resulting in the tracings of the star position rather than the instantaneous position.

kelpfoot - 2008-10-14

People without learning disabilities just say "additive."

SecretJunk - 2008-10-14

Earth is totally at the centre of the universe.

Daniel Striped Tiger - 2008-10-14

I am shocked and relieved that there hasn't been a Gurren Lagann reference yet.

Thats beautiful.
In my younger years I think I saw star trails while under the influence of acid lying down in a park staring at the sky.
Any scientific POE types out there think this is possible?
What I saw looked very similar to 0:40 - 0:53.

What happened what that your being stopped the motion of the galaxy long enough for all molecules to align with your spirit. The magnetic forces in the atoms that make up all the cells in your body were released, sending an intergalactic message to all other atoms and their contained protons, neutrons and electrons. They all rejoiced at your awakening and celebrated with delight by aligning with your chakra.

Psyche. You were just trippen ballz. Been on the same page... except I never saw star trails (that's cool).. instead I realized I was magnetically stuck to the side or bottom of the earth, rather than resting on top. That was a tough night.

As much as I would like to believe it was the former, you are right good Dr. it was a case of trippin ballz.

I wonder why the hallucinations took this form though.
Coincidence? Did I see a picture of something like this in the past and my brain dug it up? Do psychadelics lend themselves to seeing geometric shapes and I just happened to be looking at the sky?

Anyways. I am not sure what I find more fascinating. This or the fact that I was 16 once tripping out in a park in the suburbs.

This doesn't look too much like the south pole though

dr_rock - 2008-10-14

I believe the center of the star trials is the point at which the south pole rotates (in the sky)

dr_rock - 2008-10-14

trails... dammit

Too much Tregs tonight.

Tuan Jim - 2008-10-14

I have a dumb question: There's currently no star that's like a southern version of polaris?

Sigma Octantis!

And Then Explosions - 2008-10-14

Disclaimer: it is not very bright.

rroach - 2008-10-15

Since when does the South Pole have trees?

thebaronsdoctor - 2008-10-15

Driving home the sky accelerates. And the clouds all form a geometric shape...
