It's as though Colin Powell and John McCain have a time share on one a sense of decency and sanity.

And of course the conservative blogs are lighting up in anger. accusing Powell of racism by picking the black guy.

IrishWhiskey - 2008-10-19 Rush Limbaugh:
"Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race. OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with."

StanleyPain - 2008-10-19 I dunno, lying to the UN about Iraq and being the centerpiece of the bullshit, fraudulent intelligence presentation that Iraq was about to spring forth and attack the world just to help Bush is about a tacit an endorsement of a whitey I can think of.

godot - 2008-10-19 Warren Buffett, worth 50 billion, and giving it all away, is a lifelong Democrat. George Soros, worth 11 billion, is a major major supporter of moveon.org, and would prefer to be remembered as a philosopher. Being rich != being Republican.

General Powell, could you talk for 7 minutes before telling me who you'll vote for?
I agreed with him , though.

Et tu Colin?

Cena_mark - 2008-10-19 But McCain won't be like Bush. He's a maverick he, he reaches across the isle, HE BELIEVES IN THE FAIRYTALE CALLED GLOBAL WARMING!
Powel feels betrayed by Bush but so do I. He didn't use his veto pen enough, he let government spending and growth run wild.
I'm disapointed by Bush, but I still see that McCain will be better for the U.S. than Obama.
|
IrishWhiskey - 2008-10-20 Bush "let" the spending grow? He was the head of the party in charge of all three branches of government! He personally asked for some of the biggest increases in spending. And he took growth in government powers, particularly executive power, further than anyone wanted it to go, including the framers of the constitution.
The GOP is only for state's rights, balanced budgets, and limited government when they aren't the ones in charge.

Trying to take that first step towards a redemption.

It's about fucking time someone grew a set and made that point about being Muslim not being synonymous with being a terrorist.
