Why'd they have to make the mac the not a douche in this ad?
People will have equal protection under the law, even if prop 8 passes. If prop 8 passes same sex marriages will be illegal. This law will apply to both homosexuals and heterosexuals alike. Gays will be able to marry a member of the opposite sex, just as heterosexuals won't be able to marry a member of the same sex. The law applies to both parties equally.
DURR HURR, I ARE CONSERVATIVE
You're slipping man. You can be pretty entertaining at times, but this just didn't do it or me. Too contrived, didn't seem natural.
My point is that laws banning gay marriage don't discriminate. The law applies equally for homos and heteros. If the law says marriage is Man/woman only then that law works for homos and heteros. Both homos and heteros will be able to marry a member of the opposite sex.
This ad tries to make it seem like the law discriminates, yet it doesn't.
That's pretty cool logic. So a law that prevents women from voting would equally affect everybody. Women can't vote and men aren't women so they aren't prevented from being unable to not vote.
Cena thinks marriage is that thing grownups do in order to make babies. His position makes sense if you pretend you're 5 years old.
People will have equal protection under the law, even if Loving v. Virginia passes. If Loving v. Virginia passes inter-racial marriages will be illegal. This law will apply to both blacks and whites alike. Blacks will be able to marry a member of the same race, just as whites won't be able to marry a black. The law applies to both parties equally.
I was trying to reply to cena :(
Five stars mainly because I agree with the ad's message.
Although I can't help but think the pro-same sex marriage lobby would be better served by remaking the "I can marry a princess" commercial, but casting two hot lesbians instead of a mother and daughter.
1) This kind of a sleazy ad, even though it's for the right side.
2) My reaction to the princess ad was "aww isn't that cute" so I kind of don't see why the anti-prop 8 people even need to advertise. I think no ad is going to change anyone's mind on this issue and all the ads serve to do is remind people that it's up for vote.

I'm with "NO" here, because "YES" doesn't have adequate credentials (i.e. a degree from Pepperdine) to back up his argument.
In a side note: In Missouri, you can not marry in the same sex. You can, however, marry your donkey.
I certainly hope prop 8 passes. Then I'm going to start a movement adovacing self marriage, using the same rhetoric that has been used to popularize and legalize same sex marriage.
Hello single joint tax return!
...you don't know what Prop 8 actually does, do you?
Hint: it does not legalize same-sex marriage
You don't see the significance of the events that have happened in the last several years do you?
Hint: It goes far beyond the issue of same-sex marriage.
No you mong, if you're in favor of prop 8 you're against gay people.
^^^ While not technically correct, I certainly understand what you're trying to say.
And indeed, that is very much part of the intent.
Kids these days and their short-sightedness.
You're Jonah Goldberg, aren't you? You say something stupid, it is clearly refuted, then you reply I THINK THIS ONLY SERVES TO PROVE MY POINT HEH (FART).
What you're saying is if Prop 8 passes, and gay marriage is outlawed, it will open the doors for SILLINESS and you will step in with your brilliant Swiftian ploy to show the LIEBERAL DHIMMIS the error of their ways. That is retarded. Your statement would have made sense if it had started "I certainly hope prop 8 fails." It still wouldn't have been funny, or clever, or substantially different from John Cornyn's retarded OMG BOX TURTLE argument, but it would have fucking parsed.
You, sir, are a truly magical sped.
Hey! It's lovable character actor Bob Stephenson! It's really weird when actors in political commercials are actors I recognize from actual *things.*
