Brock sounds far too adamant in his insistence that they are not rice, but most people were too busy staring at Misty's legs to call him on it.

This wasn't the first time 4kids used Misty's figure to distract viewers from another character's bizarre conduct, and it certainly wouldn't be the last.

THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS

takewithfood - 2008-10-23

Have a pile of stars!

cognitivedissonance - 2008-10-23

Later in the series, 4Kids would digitally insert sandwiches, crackers and bread just to deal with what they perceived as a problem. This is probably part of why they lost their dubbing contract...

cognitivedissonance - 2008-10-23

The Pokemon Company also took out Brock for a season and replaced him with the much more Anglo Tracy Sketchit, but the Japanese were displeased, and the non-Japanese confused, so they put him back in in the 3rd season. Brock has only opened his squinty eyes twice in the entire run of the series.

cognitivedissonance - 2008-10-23

Also, I am a nerd.

petep - 2008-10-23

cognitivedissonance - 2008-10-23

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-10-23

I know nothing about this series apart from the enslaved animals are kept in magic balls. Also I think they're eating umeboshi in their rice balls, which is gross.

uekibachi - 2008-10-23

brock is also one hot piece of man for a cartoon. yes lord. mmmmm

Xiphias - 2008-10-23

five stars for a guy posting about the history of pokemon dubbing

Xenocide - 2008-10-23

They need to emphasize that they're donuts a few more times.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-10-23

I really want to see them call sushi "lunchables" or possibly tempura "mcnuggets".

thebaronsdoctor - 2009-04-05

I want to see them do the inverse and insist that donuts are riceballs.

revdrew - 2008-10-23

That's gotta be some salty ass jelly in their "donuts".

DMKA - 2008-10-23

I remember a video of some fatass WEEABOOORAGGGGGGEEEEEEing over this posted here a few months ago. Five stars for that.

Quad9Damage - 2008-10-23

"OKAY BROCK, WE GET IT! THEY'RE FUCKING DOUGHNUTS!"

Umaro - 2008-10-23

Man Misty was hot.

Corman's Inferno - 2008-10-23

Oddly enough, doughnuts are called "rice balls" in the Japanese dub of the Simpsons.

kamlem - 2008-10-23

But... Mr Donut in Japan is awesome... Mmmmmm, curry donuts!

BHWW - 2008-10-23

Did I mention these were DONUTS? Let me restate for the record that these DONUTS are DONUTS.

Camonk - 2008-10-23

I don't know what you bunch of freaking cartoon nerds are talking about. Those donuts look AWESOME.
