Later in the game, you encounter another alien race which joins you in the fight against your enemies. Known as the Dy'kes, they subsist entirely on a processed foodstuff called Biological Organic Xenopaste (or BOX.) After eating enough BOX, they are able to effortlessly repel the Kh'aak, which seem to have no power over them at all.

Adaptive AI means the khaak get harder the more you beat them.
Beat it on hard to unlonck the throbbing difficulty.
