Say what you will about this being evil but in the 1940's women were entering the workforce in droves when in prior years it had been unheard of for a woman to hold a full time job, let alone in a factory. Through no fault of their own many of these women had half the education and none of the work experience of the men that supervisors were accustomed to. This video is a stepping stone to women holding their own jobs, voting, filing for divorce, and all of the other civil rights that had been denied them.

5 stars for progress.

This is a remarkably even-handed film for the time. Amazing time capsule.

SolRo - 2008-10-29
it is pretty even-handed, thought slightly sexist.

also, 5 stars for "breaking the new workers in"

Oops, my bad on the voting, it was 1920 for the states. I was thinking of the UN suffrage dealy in the 70's. Thanks for pointing that out.

I think the "I'm scared of women" says it all.

He sounds so nervous when he says it, too.

There's no CRYING in the soul-crushing drudgery of assembly work!
