buttnutt Well it's a good thing this girl has listened to every rap song ever. Rap is not nearly as good as the killers, a clichedly hipster faux indie rock band.
And whats with the Salad fingers intro?

Rovin Salad Fingers leading to ORGASMIC + "I don't like the sexuality presented in rap. I like The Killers, particularly the song about a guy getting sick peeping in at people getting undressed to engage in... oh wait. Anyway, these are my slippers."
FatFatuousNation Rap isn't just about being provocative and insulting women. That is an important part, but it is only a small subset of the rap scene.
This young lady needs to spend more time studying rap songs about about flaunting your wealth, taking drugs, and shooting people before she passes blanket judgment on rap

HarrietTubmanPI As a music nerd I can safely say there's nothing new under the sun in music. This goes for all genres.
One of my music professors would probably kick this girl for the crap she's saying though. Music to him had nothing to do with the words. Music wasn't the words. The words were the words.
But hey, he had a point.
HarrietTubmanPI Very good point, but could one argue the words of Goethe made the Erlkonig even though there are half a dozen versions and each one of them different?
When it gets down to it, I still feel (and most musicologists agree with me) that the words are irrelevant to the music. The music conveys the mood with or without the words.
Why do you think Strauss could tell a story with Ein Heldenleben or Berlioz with Symphonie Fantastique (in fact Berlioz only wrote the story AFTER he composed the piece)?
What you could be arguing for is actually programmatic music - music that tells a story (and it can be with or without words). However again the most musicologists would argue with you is that the music isn't the words, but the sound of them.
Good examples of this include the Sprechstimme like Pierrot Lunaire or works by Paul Lanksy or Crumb.

Goethe and ernie She's got a point, rap IS just talking fast.
Mike Tyson?! Country is talking slow. Rock is talking loudly.
simon666 Goethe, I'm rolling my eyes at you.
Cena_mark Misogyny is an important cornerstone of rap music. I too am a rapper, and I am very misogynistic in my lyrics. This bitch needs to shut the hell up and make me a sandwich.
Her getting pissed off at 50's Candy Shop is ridiculous. She's got a perverted mind to think that the song is about oral sex. The song has no hidden context its just an innocent trip to the candy shop.
simon666 Time to retire the nickname and come up with a new troll image. Your comments are like watching a ship sink in slow motion. It's pathetic really.
mr666 At least it's not political trolling, which Cena Mark never was good at. This is a slight change, if nothing else.
HarrietTubmanPI Misogyny is also a cornerstone in Madrigals.
Guess we should ban them too?
Innocent Bystander Wow dude, I'm disappointed. I mean I noticed a drop in the quality of your schtick but damn.
simon666 It in a sense is political trolling because it touches on politically sensitive issues.
charmlessman In her defense, Candy Shop is a terrible song.
But she's an idiot.
