I originally thought he caught his toes on the toe-trap rail on the roof, but now it looks like he just lost traction like a pig on a skating rink.
Nothing I could say is better than that diagnosis.
I think actually the roof of the car caved in slightly from the force of him trying to jump, absorbing all his fat-energy, thus resulting in a non-jump. Yay physics!
