I wonder if Darren Aronofsky is actually able to make a decent movie. I'm pretty much anticipating an overblown piece of moralistic bullshit where the characters are exploited for cheap emotional thrills. But maybe it will actually be watchable.

I have no problem with the material. It's a wonderful story.
I just despise DA. I'm also pretty forgiving. After Pi and RFAD I sorta said "this guy is a pretentious cock with a lot of potential, he just needs to turn it down and actually care about people." After The Fountain I thought he was incapable of being a decent human being and that he should continue making bloated hilariously shitty pretentious arthouse masterpieces that everyone hates except me and my friend Andrew, but now maybe his mom died so he feels some pathos for a wrestler.
