if i recall correctly this was a movie about the future when they were able to clone any extinct animal using it's DNA -- luckily in the future they had dinosaur DNA so they cloned some of those. and they are sentient. and they help whoopi. who is a cop, solve crime.

The movie was actually so bad that Whoopi wanted to pull out after signing her contract, until the studio threatened to sue. Her hatred and disgust with the entire film is palpable in every single scene.
