I can tell you from personal experience that fifty percent of history taught in Texas public schools is state history up until high school. More is taught about Sam Houston, Jim Bowie and Davey Crockett than Washington and Jefferson. It is sort of an implied idea in all of the Texas state history texts that "Texas is a state in the union of the United States...for now."
Wow. After watching this video I never would have suspected that this guy would come down on that side of that argument. My mind is totally blown right now, I find myself agreeing with this guy's politics but his presentation is a bit over the top.
