My dog wouldn't do that in a million years.
My dog doesn't know how to fetch. Well, it sort of does. It knows how to run after something and it understands that this is a game, it just doesn't return the thing to the thrower. It runs off and hides and the next time you see whatever you threw all the stuffing has been pulled out.
Not that this matters since my dog is afraid of everything. It's afraid of even normal, non-scary dog toys. Something big and noisy like that, forget it. Not in a million years. Not after living around the machine in constant operation for the entire span of existence would my dog ever get close enough to that machine to put a ball in it.
Also my dog doesn't do balls. It will only really chase after stuffed animals or dog treats. But only soft treats, none of that milkbone nonsense.
But if they made one of those that was completely silent, contained no moving parts, and launched brand-new stuffed slippers (which it reloaded itself from a large drum of them because none of those launched would ever be seen again) I would totally buy it.
