This is what I call retro gaming.
There was a truly evil Tic-Tac-Toe game a high school science prof I had kept on his TRS-80. The computer randomly numbered the nine cells. Every round, the contents of each cell shifted up by one (cell 3 sent whatever it had to cell 4, for example). You had to play several moves ahead, if you could, to even try to come to a draw game.

He offered one free rise in your letter grade if you could beat it. To my knowledge, nobody ever did.

He could have bet his right arm-- it's impossible to beat a competent tic-tac-toe program.

With noise like that, truly, the only winning move is not to play.
The first person to make a War Games joke will have to answer to me.
