takewithfood That really is incredible. I didn't expect this sort of thing so soon.

Ursa_minor That last lady had a great rack.
Uh. Robotic arm.

Slumgullion !$%#ing wow.

Urist Well... I think they should just lose the other arm. What do you guys think?

Badassimo These are the kind of robot masters (mistresses?) I can really see humanity bowing down to.

Protoseth If this is the model I'm thinking of it's even cooler than you think. If you noticed, the first tester had an artificial shoulder, and the last tester had a bit of their upper arm left; the arm is designed to be broken down to replace as mush of the arm as you may have lost. I think it's incredible that they've managed to design a modular prototype, not just talked about it.
Also, I believe this is brainchild of the same guy that built the Segway scooter.

HarveyTibbar The team who is producing this is making it specifically for military rehabilitation. That being, vets who have lost limbs.
Now they have stated quite clearly that they are not going to do anything they deem 'crazy' with this arm, like amp it up to 500% human strength or anything like that.
However, it should be noted that they are not going to be the last set of technical hands to tinker with this arm before it is implemented. So I'm still holding out hope/horror of seeing someone bench press a truck.

Aelric The movement still seems a bit hurky-jerky, but it's still beats those hook arms by a damn sight.
Did I here mention of Donald Anderson's organization in there?

dr_mr_vandertramps God took those limbs. Science brought them back.

Cube Works well with "We Are The Robots" playing in the background.
|
Rafiki In the final test before they pass robot arm school, they are thrown a live baby which they must catch or they lose the right to keep the arm.
