Hooper_X The beautiful part is that the entire show went out live. The reason they had the cowboy movie in the middle is probably so they could change sets, etc.
BHWW There was also a 15-part Captain Video serial, where the Video Rangers fought a race of advanced aliens...who looked like a bunch of spear-wielding guys wearing Saracen warrior costumes.
Kieran27 I actually have that serial on DVD, along with a ton of other ones. I love these old shows, they're such a great slice of life of the time. Political correctness didn't exist, violence was expected, nay needed (the rules for serials was at least one fist fight per serial, more if you can manage it) and it was good clean "fight the bad guys" plots. Not complex at all, but just classic entertainment.
Spike Jonez Some friends of mine do a MST3K-like webcast where they riff on old shows, this one included. Sometimes it's pretty damn funny. http://idiotboxers.tv
wtf japan There's a Honeymooner's episode about this show.
pastorofmuppets Anyone know why I only get audio on these unless I click full screen?
pastorofmuppets Hmm, if I hit refresh after I do that it seems to work.
pastorofmuppets but only if I comment about how there's no video. It knows somehow.
Comeuppance Later in the series, the then-central villain unleashes a terrible robot named Tobor upon Captain Video.
"TOBOR, ATTACK!"
Tobor lumbers towards our hero!
Captain Video ponders the grave situation. Surely, this robot will tear him to shreds!
Suddenly, INSPIRATION!
Captain Video proudly shouts: "Tobor, go back!"
The villain is thwarted.
