dementomstie That is adorable. I like that Ricky has given complete control over to Elmo, and he looks him in the eye while talking to him. He is clearly having the time of his life while doing this. This is the best Elmo thing I've ever seen.
minimalist That's what I like about Gervais: he seems constantly surprised, humbled, and thankful to have gotten where he is, and absolutely *thrilled* to be doing what he's doing.
That sort of sheer, infectious joy is rare, and heartwarming in itself. Add a puppeteer who's sharper than his character usually conveys, but no less humble and joyful than Gervais, and you have magic.
Goofy Gorilla I don't much care for Elmo, but I'm impressed with Clash's ability to stay in character through this. I mean, he didn't always stay in the Elmo character, but when he broke I imagined it was the muppet that turned into a professional actor rather than Clash.
Hooper_X Yeah, that's a guy with some strong puppet-fu.
Also: Elmo plus holocaust jokes equals magnificence. Favorited.
Sean Robinson Laughing and breaking in the voice is amazing.
happy_ending That's the Muppet way of doing things. Jim Henson pretty much insisted on it, which is why guests love going on Sesame Street.
allcaps Dear sweet Jesus. Gervais makes even Elmo bearable.
