We did a performance of this for eighth grade english in junior high, and it's one of my favorite movies. Regrettably it remains socially apt.

Jeff Fries - 2009-04-09

I'd like you to meet my friend, Pat Liberal Parable.

Bort - 2009-04-09

I see what you're saying, and to be sure, the people who could benefit from the message of "Ten Angry Men" are likely to dismiss it on those grounds. That said, if Henry Fonda, Klug Man, and Piglet are on one side of an issue and you're on the other, you're probably in the wrong.

CharlesSmith - 2009-04-09

Dude, Jeff Fries is just Cena_Mark without the irony.

Bort - 2009-04-09

Well he IS right that 10AM is reminiscent of a morality play -- many of the characters are embodiments of one vice or another ("selfish indifference", "bigotry", "inability to be impartial"), and that works against its persuasive potential.

Johnny Roastbeef - 2009-04-09

And so is To Kill a Mockingbird. Yes, it's a story that uses a contrived set of facts to draw attention to a societal problem, but it doesn't mean that you can just write off its point with a wave of your hand. Obviously in the real world there's almost always more doubt and uncertainty in the facts than are present in these stories. But allowing that fact to justify disdain for the message and adherence to your prejudices is rocking some mean ignorance, dude.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2009-04-09

yeah except this movie is brilliantly directed, acted and written

The McK - 2009-04-09

I love movies based on plays for that exact reason. Stage productions tend to be willing to make statements that regular movies find too melodramatic.

This movie is my Shawshank Redemption - no matter how many times I've seen it, I'll watch it any time it's on cable.

"Well... say something! You lousy bunch of bleedin' hearts. You're not goin' to intimidate me - I'm entitled to my opinion!"

Jeff Fries - 2009-04-09

It's not ignorance, it's an overrated movie with at least one unbearable scene and a lot of good actors playing cartoons. When you're older you'll understand.

Jeff Fries - 2009-04-09

In any case, why waste your time on this when Bigger than Life is only a few notches down

ProfessorChaos - 2009-04-09

Five for successful trolling, Fries.
I can't even stop myself from saying that your opinions are strong indicators of weakness of character, even though I'm sure that's what you want.
So, yeah. Five Stars.

Jeff Fries - 2009-04-09

I'm not trolling 'teach, and don't even try to troll me by pretending to be a moralizing liberal

Johnny Roastbeef - 2009-04-09

Jeff Fries - 2009-04-09

I'll just sit here not liking it until you all decide it's better than The Godfather

tamago - 2009-04-10

Anyone who gives this one star is a tasteless idiot.

No offense Mr. Fries.

Syd Midnight - 2009-04-10

It's a pat parable in that you'd have to be a jackass to disagree with the moral. Jeff Fries probably watches a Sesame Street skits on friendship and sharing and says "Fuck that liberal commie bullshit"

StanleyPain - 2009-04-09

One of my all time favorite movies.

bopeton - 2009-04-09

Always loved this movie, overwrought fable and all.

Freeman Gordon - 2009-04-09

Hands down the best movie I've ever enjoyed. Watched it 3 times already.
