When someone says "That's so gay" they are not using gay as a synonym for homosexual, it's actually a synonym for "lame" or stupid"; so why, the fuck would you even feel offended?

No one picked gay as the way to refer to themselves originally. It was winnowed out of the pool including 'twinkle toes,' 'fairy,' 'lavendar,' and dozens of others. I don't think it's particularly outrageous to ask that you put your reappropriation of gay on the back burner until we see some long overdue civil rights movement.

"Dumb" and "Stupid" don't have the same pop as "gay". they lumber solemnly over the tongue the tongue whereas "gay" pops right off. it's a superior word - which is why it has so many meanings, some of which came way before "gay". it's just a fun word to say!
