because he's all they've got?
because the remaining Republicans agree?
because he's the target of a major investigation into US violations of the law?
because this is basically the same position the country was in after Watergate, and we're waiting for a Frost/Nixon moment?
because if we don't pay attention to him he'll force-choke us?

Cheney is right! Powell endorsed the candidate who he honestly thought would do the better job instead of carrying water for a candidate he didn't like! He can't be a true Republican, not when he put his country before his party!
This is not sarcasm.
The modern Republican party has become about GOP uber alles, about opposition for the sake of opposition, about hoping the president will fail just because he doesn't have a little "R" next to his name when he appears on C-SPAN. Powell is not a Republican by current standards. He should be proud.

Does anyone else get the impression he's fighting for his life and he's trying to polarize the country to save it? It seems like the only move he has left on the board is to try to convince a ton of psychopaths that he's kept them safe so that he can't be sent to jail without a revolt.
Also, the force thing.
tell us jame woods
what was the scorseses like jame woods
james woods i had a dream with you in it once that went like this:
it was like a 3rd person POV just to get that out of the way.
it was essentially Leaving Las Vegas, but instead of Liz Shue you were dating this orangutan stripper, I kid you not. I have it written down somewhere. She wore makeup and a dress and everything. In one part you were crying because she didn't love you. She had really long red fingernails and high heels.
I think Badge of the Assassin is a sort of underrated movie. In the sense that nobody has seen that movie or rated it.
Be gone mortals. I have no time to pleasure your primate minds with my attention.

Five for the description. Seriously, 40 years of "public service" has left him skilled at doing evil, lining his pockets and the pockets of his cronies, and not much else. If Dick Cheney makes a prediction or recommends a course of action, it's the wrong one. If Dick Cheney makes a statement, it's a self-serving lie. The only reason to listen to him is to know what not to believe, and the only good thing about him is that he'll be dead soon, hopefully.
So your username seemed familiar and I googled it (not who I was thinking) and I came across an Amazon review for CS Lewis by you. I knew it was you because only a poeTV user would title their review "Minus two stars for being incomplete." :)

Man, Cheney, I thought we were cool. I thought we could hang out. That was lame shit, man.
|CornOnTheCabre - 2009-05-11 |
dude. he shot a guy. in the face. and got away scot-free. I'll listen to him read Atlas Shrugged while raping a warthog if it keeps him at an even keel.

Well, looking at it from a Magic the Gathering perspective, Colin Powell is white/black and thus harder to play than Rush Limbaugh, who is pure black mana, which is more Cheney's speed. Plus, Rush can be tapped to put angry 1/1 rednecks into play, while Colin Powell's creature generating days (i.e., military service) are behind him.
Still, it's a tradeoff. Rush Limbaugh's got Vanishing, on account of he'll have a heart attack any day now.
what did you just do there
the only way to not be pulled into that comment's nerd gravitational pull is to do what I did and stop reading the moment you hit "looking at it from a Magic the Gathering perspective"

I really am enjoying this radical slide into the footnotes of history the Republican party has going on.

Weren't these people recently considered "political geniuses?"
They ARE political geniuses. They're getting rid of the dead weight RINO's from the Republican Party, so its a party for REAL conservatives. The reason the Bush GOP lost is because they were too moderate and compromising, and once the Republican Party is pure in ideology, the American people will reject BO and reembrace the party. They'll have to, because America is a conservative nation, the media elites simply trick people into thinking otherwise. Once Obama crashes the economy and surrenders to Islam, Republicans will be in power for decades. You'll see. You'll all see.

Cheney evil is worth five stars.
If he's such a political "genius", then why did he let ANY of his shady JD deals stay public at all? We've known about his legal shennanigans for a long time now, and he's now frantically trying to create a diversion? Makes me wonder what other skeletons are waiting in his closet.
|theSnake - 2009-05-11 |
Hahaha they are finally too dumb and evil to shut the fuck up and let moderates rebuild their party so they can wrest control back back from a complacent populace this time! YAY!
