Aardvarks are originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. Not many people know that.

All I can think of regarding that is something from one of the appendices of Dune, but I don't think that's it.

It's from Cerebus by Dave Simm a comic about an Aardvark that turned into an anti-female manifesto as the authors personal life began to collapse. Also, one of if not the longest running comic serial ever at 100 issues.
I remember seeing this on TV as a kid! Very inspiring.
