I am tired of this orange woman. Beauty pageant contestants' opinions don't matter. The only person punishing her is Perez Hilton. His opinion is also unimportant. The religious right are using her for their latest imaginary persecution scandal. And now Donald Trump is involved. *sigh*
Olbermann was best when he was the sports guy on a Los Angeles news channel.
That said, this was pretty good.
This is the first time anyone has given a damn about a beauty pageant contestant since the 50's.

If it's okay for them to be deaf, surely it's okay for them to be mute.
Hey, at least this stuff is taking my mind off of the economy & rising gas prices.
Let's see what we've got here.
Yet another one of those guys on TV (Beck, Matthews, Hannity...) who makes $17,000,000 to act like that annoying relative who just won't shut up about politics.
A 22 year old (her birthday was yesterday), Hispanic woman who won her state beauty contest and will be forgotten in a couple of months. Of course we all know the reputation beauty contestants and evangelical christians have for intellect.
Democrats beating up a 22 year old, minority, woman for disagreeing with them.
Yup, everybody's evil in this video. Bonus for Olbermann who put "education major", "playing with her Chihuahua" and "basketball" as her interests instead of the more accurate, studying to be a special ed teacher, working with developmentally disabled kids and helping with Special Olympics. Geeze I hate those news commentary shows.
The difference is slight, because neither of those people seek to educate people. They do not elevate the discourse to encourage outside research (the time constraints of their medium prohibit it in any case), all of these guys pontificate, focus in on abstract moments, explode the issue based on reels of popular polls and ratings instead of challenge people.
Sure, Olbermann is more compassionate and obsessive about his beliefs than Beck, who is-- absolutely out of his fucking mind... We know, at least from interviews with his friends, that Ken sleeps little and writes his monologues at 4am. Then again, who cares? Anyone can do that. Everyone who posts their political opinions on the internet has done that at least once in their lives. He should be thanked for doing things like acknowledging that queers are human beings that should be awarded the same rights as anybody, but then why do we care that he feels something we do? Do we really need him to make us "feel" like justice is real?
The point is that sound bite polemics are horseshit and there's no excuse for being blind fans of pundits.
WAHH WAHHHHHHHHH OLBERMAN IS BEING OUR VERSION OF RUSH WAHHHHHH HES TOO ABRASIVE (EXCEPT HES RIGHT ABOUT THINGS) WAAAAAAHHHHAGAHAHAHA

I was going to talk about the time I met her, and I had a great burn lined up, but right before I hit Submit I realized that if I said what I was going to say the joke would be on me, like God knew I was going to talk shit about one of his followers and rigged the whole anecdote to blow up in my face. If anyone is curious I'll go ahead and say what I was going to say, but only if you promise to believe every word of it and not make any assumptions.

Why is anyone dignifying this with attention at all? The contestant has stupid and pitiable personal beliefs, beauty pageants are still exploitive trash, and Hilton should be beaten to death and tied to a fence. Nothing new here.
I am only starring this because I had not previously seen her "waaa my grandad was in double ya double ya two" interview, and it's a fucking doozy.
GOD WAS IN MY HEAD
Olbermann is a bit of an asshole. An intelligent, hard-hitting, Ivy League-educated political commentator makes fun of an airhead teenage girl/professional bimbo with a fundie upbringing and breast implants. Is it really necessary?
