Induction into Twin Peaks fandom can be dated by when you first heard this story.

I went to Snoqualmie just after Twin Peaks ended. In the center of town was a giant log (world's largest?) on a railroad car. I always figured The Log Lady came from the town's obsession with the timber industry. (Yes I ate cherry pie at the Mar T restaurant and the waitress told me they get them from the local grocery store.)
