Gentrification is actually not as terrible as Singleton makes it out to be. The concept is that people of different economic groups live together, preventing an economic ghetto with no money or investment capital flowing into an area.
I think what Singleton's trying to address is aggressive, yet non-violent, expulsion of black Americans through economic means. This is a very indirect and debatable process, as it indicates malevolent intent and not commercial greed.
Perhaps I'm naive, but I don't think anyone is flying "crack rocks" anywhere. Would be a waste of cargo space when you can fill that with cocaine and let the local guys get the legal ingredients on their own.
Also, wow does Morpheus sound young. Now someone post the part where Doughboy's mother flicks a cigarette, it's the most spectacular cig-flick ever on film.
You are naive! You think black people came up with the secret crack formula on their own? In their black people laboratories? Fuck no, that shit is COMPLICATED. The CIA definitely had to work that out.
