I'd like to see the fallout spin on this from O'Reilly and company.

Camonk... agrees with something... Cheney said
Camonk... confused... deeply confused.
Camonk's world turned upside down

"I think freedom means freedom for everyone. And as you may know, I sold out my daughter in my 2004 debate with John Edwards when I said I supported President Bush in his desire for legislation that would ban gay marriage."

Cheney is a truly terrible human being. Too bad he can't die because he's already been an android for the past 3 years or so.
buttnutt - 2009-06-02
This has always been Cheney's stance on gay marriage. He made the same comment a few years ago when people were discussing the new constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and woman.

Dick Cheney loves his daughter.
What is love?
The feeling that you develop when when you can't waterboard your problems away, and have to accept them.
Louis, I have quoted your comment for a new tag that I hope gets activated in the near future.

I watched some of this press conference (or whatever the hell it is) and if I recall, this question came not long after saying, in reference to Guantanamo Bay "If you don't have a place where you can hold these people as we do, your only other option is to kill them." Freedom for everyone, yay!
Too bad Cheney doesn't have more children in other minority groups.
damint "Thurmond". I knew that but copy/pasted your incorrect spelling splatterbabble you ass

Too little too late asshole.
TeenerTot - 2009-06-02
I'm not sure what to make of this. he kinda talks big about rights, but in the end just says "Throw it back to the states." He believes in equality for all, unless a state legislature says different.
That's the easy way out. WELL I AM FOR IT BUT IT'S REALLY UP TO THE STATES TO DECIDE is a nice way of saying "I'm for it, but I'm too much of a fucking pussy to do anything about it."
This is the same line Ron Paul takes. He's all for individual liberty against a federal government, but a state government should be able to rule with an iron fist.
phalsebob - 2009-06-02
My head is going to explode. Rarely does someone say something I agree with that makes me hate them more.
Cleaner82 - 2009-06-02
You know there was a time, an eight year period Mr. Cheney, where you could have helped your daughter live her life in peace. You missed that boat. Burn in your personal hell.
This is good in a broad sense. Even "Gay marriage is the right thing but the state should decide" is a step up spiritually if not technically. But I have no sympathy for this man. Clearly his empathy doesn't extend beyond his own spawn, and it barely reaches those borders.
Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2009-06-02
Ever get the feeling that despite being psychotically evil, Dick Cheney is a really nice guy?
I hate that fucking idea, but christ, still.
I have never gotten that impression... to say the least. But he could be. All it requires is a complete disconnect between the people he cares about and the rest of the world, which is a big thing among Republicans anyway.
DMKA - 2009-06-02
He's not vice president anymore so he's not afraid to say this.
He didn't say anything different than usual.
Also, he's being aimed to lead the GOP. He still needs to watch what he says.
Rodents of Unusual Size
That could be entertaining, if for no other reason than to see him compete with Sarah Palin. Oh the joys of them spending lots of time together, discussing important topics of state would be a source of never ending amusement. Not to him, but you know. Still.
