And that didn't go where it was supposed to. And my stars didn't appear.

Personally, I blame socialism.

IrishWhiskey - 2009-06-04

"They've bled us white, the bastards. They've taken everything we had, and not just from us, from our fathers, and from our fathers' fathers. And what have they ever given us in return?!"

"The aquaduct?"

"The aquaduct."

"Oh. Yeah, yeah. They did give us that. Uh, that's true. Yeah."

"And the sanitation."

"Yeah. All right. I'll grant you the aqueduct and the sanitation are two things that the Romans have done."

"And the roads."

"Well, yeah. Obviously the roads. I mean, the roads go without saying, don't they? But apart from the sanitation, the aqueduct, and the roads--"

Camonk - 2009-06-04

I'm both deeply depressed and greatly amused by how well Life of Brian satirizes contemporary American conservatism.

Bort - 2009-06-04

Even Joe the Plumber would look at this and say, "that guy has no idea what he just said".

IrishWhiskey - 2009-06-04

Actually Joe the Plumber once said the exact same thing. He claimed he had never relied on government in his life, despite going on welfare more than once.

Billy the Poet - 2009-06-04

It's only welfare if you're darker than a grocery bag.

Billy the Poet - 2009-06-04

Also, who the fuck was a fan of Coach?

Bort - 2009-06-04

Joe the Plumber's game was lying: he isn't actually "Joe" or a "Plumber", he's not saving up to buy his boss's business, he doesn't pay his taxes, and it took other people to discover that he used to be on welfare. When Holmes of all people called him on the welfare thing, he at least had the good sense to say (lie) that he'd paid it back. Craig T. Nelson just isn't as smart as all that.

But I see that the right wing isn't afraid to invoke the star power of a Craig T. Nelson or a Kelsey Grammer whenever it suits them.

Screwtape - 2009-06-04

Dauber was miscast apparently.

ragebots - 2009-06-04

That's what happens when the Coach doesn't win the games.

StanleyPain - 2009-06-04

Ever since this whole socialism meme got started, I keep hearing people use the world "captialistic." Is that a real word?

socialist_hentai - 2009-06-04

of course it is, or my name isn't socialistic_hentai.

theSnake - 2009-06-05

LOL. cry.

Toenails - 2009-06-05

Okay, I'm confused.

Did Mr. Nelson just say "I was on food stamps and welfare, did anyone help me out? No."?

That statement was so stupid, it made me completely forget what the purpose of food stamps and welfare is about.

Bort - 2009-06-05

That is a remarkable amount of stupid to cram into the last two seconds.

Cleaner82 - 2009-06-05

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-06-05

I guess it's easy to go into denial when you lose your job as a super.

chumbucket - 2009-06-05
