Yes, let us have this Literal Version week. It will be the greatest week.
IrishWhiskey - 2009-06-06
Honestly, I'm not sure the subtitles are adding much. The video was ridiculous enough in the first place. The edit doesn't even mention the already hilarious title of the song.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-06-06
I just looked up the song, and saw that this video was directed by Michael Bay. Yes, that Michael Bay. Its almost restrained by his standards.

There are a lot of literal videos, but this and Total Eclipse of the Heart are the two very best ones. The others are either mildly amusing or outright annoying.
dementomstie - 2009-06-06
I agree.
Someone else on the internet said the "Total Eclipse of the Heart" one was like a mix between Weird Al and MST3K, which actually was really accurate for that one.

baleen - 2009-06-06

No. Take On Me is the best.
And it's not a true literal video if it's not DESCRIBED LITERALLY. That's why it's funny. That's the point of why it's funny. THE POINT IS TO DESCRIBE THE VIDEOS. The point isn't to make fun of the videos like these guys are doing.

bongoprophet - 2009-06-06
there's really too much to pick and choose from, but if I'd get to pick a tag I'd pick "gypsy sluts" in a heartbeat

Camonk - 2009-06-06
Take On Me is one of the best things ever.

This wasn't bad, though, baleen.

baleen - 2009-06-06

I gave it an extra star for koolaid man. But these dudes ruined the show.

Sammy Barnathan - 2009-06-06
Baleen is right.

This isn't great. Certainly, even Total Eclipse of the Heart was better.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-06-06
You know, Meatloaf kind of looks like Chet...
kingofthenothing - 2009-06-06
The Strongbad voices were a nice touch.
dementomstie - 2009-06-06
I had to stop after "Chandeliered!" because I was laughing too hard.

Also: "Craftmatic charged me extra for that"

dead_cat - 2009-06-06
It had my stars at "...but I'm the KOOL-AID MAN!!"

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-06-08
All of these stars are for the first half, but I liked "I'm in a ball" too.
