Goethe and ernie No I mean people are offended by the fact that it's largely the same game as the first one, and coming out only a year later, therefore they're saying it should be a free add-on... I don't think anyone's talking about subscriptions, although, that wouldn't bother me either as, unlike most internet crybabies, I have a job.

FABIO L4D was an absolute blast the first 2 or 3 maps you played with friends. Then....
I think it's more that the initial game felt a bit pricey for what it was, wasn't released in a working state, took months to be tweaked in areas that should have been caught in play testing, and even now still has exploits that sap the fun.
No sane person thinks it should be free, but this looks expansion pack at what might be full price. That's kind of hard to swallow twice.

I gotta say, this looks like an expansion pack. I honestly kind of like killing floor better than l4d anyway. Once you play through all of the maps left 4 dead gets old.

One thing I have to complain about, just about first person shooters in general: if I am not wandering about in a helmet that puts glass in front of my eyes, don't put blood spatters and lens flares on my eyeballs. Or at least have me blink to make the obstructive debris go away.
Maybe bind the B key to blink so I can clean my eyeballs if I want to.

Physics looks wonky with the frying pan on the roof near the end... zombies flying away when hit like they were helium-filled ping-pong balls.
I'll be buying this, but not when it's $50.

The more videos of this I see, the more it looks like Serious Sam and not l4d. Maybe they'll pull off the daytime thing, but I'll be demoing this before I buy it.

L4D is a game that really isn't very fun to watch. All the fun comes from being alone in that world with 4 other people and all the chaos and infighting that arises.
The game is much more than just shoot at zombie horde. It's also protect my mates, communicate hazards, find places to hole up and try not to get too pissed off when your teammate accidentally shoots you in the back and drops a molly on you.
So for me, more of the same is welcome if it means new maps, weapons, enemies and modes. I will shell out another $50 bucks, especially knowing that user content will also be coming along so that 50 bucks will go quite a ways.

They're gonna have a L4D2 Christmas sale on Steam, you just KNOW it. If you don't wanna spend 50 bucks, just wait a few weeks and you can pretend like you outsmarted the system. That's my plan, anyway.
