About seven years ago I worked on a documentary. We shot at two notorious locations, the victim's memorial near Columbine High School and the site of James Byrd's racist murder in Jasper Texas (about five hours from Paris).
The people of Columbine were aggressive and angry, and many screamed profanity and epithets at me and my crew as we shot.
The people of Jasper were friendly and warm. Not one person made us feel unwelcome, even when we were shooting the road where Byrd was dragged to death.
How this relates to this video; Mr. Stewart is clumsy but maybe he was trying to say the right thing. Maybe he's not a racist.
