So they CAN play some of their older stuff.
Last few times I've seen them live, it seems like they don't acknowledge like, 95% of their repertoire pre-Zaireeka. I always thought it was because they were stripped down personnel-wise to the point where they just weren't physically able to play the older songs anymore (Transmissions From The Satellite Heart and Clouds Taste Metallic relied almost entirely on Ronald Jones' insane, feedbacky guitar playing and he quit after those two albums). On the other hand, Wayne seems almost embarrassed to be associated with the period where the Lips consistently rocked.
Probably said it before but the Flaming Lips doing a live version of "Hell's Angels Crackerjack Factory" is probably a thing of the past :(
