8:10 was the best running gag the show had. If I recall correctly, they even had a 'future' episode, where Heifer's illegitimate son is belittled by his siblings for that specific reason.

Even as a child I knew this show was dirty. The occasional religious commentary was usually pretty choice.

Same. I remember episodes that didn't even really try all that hard to hide it either, like the one where the two gay lizards who own the porn shop turn Rocko into a celebrity under the name "wedgie boy" as a model.

I still can't believe it was aimed at kids and shown in the middle of the day, right in between Doug and Rugrats.
