The big East Coast PBS stations in Boston, New York, and Philly produce a lot of the nationally-syndicated content. It's a different deal from commercial networks.

Yeah. WGBH, in particular, makes a lot of the PBS KIDS! Content.

Anyone who doesn't understand that this is clearly the sight and sound of the glowing alien insect robot army coming out of the absolute darkness to blind you just before they tear your brain apart needs an imagination transplant.

I always imagined it to be the last ember of the fire that consumed the world and everything in it.

It's the sound of bubbling, heart stopping terror, you moon unit. This is the sound of a child overwhelmed by horror, and by association this is the symbol it has taken.

Of course to an adult it's excitement, and to an autist, nothing at all.

I lived in Boston as a kid and agree this was horrifying. Also got home just in time to see the credits / wormhole horror of Dr. Who, never saw the actual show.

It is an explosion of alien electronic noise accompanied by stark neon lighting. If you are 3 or 4 or whatever, this is pretty affecting. It especially helps if you are watching it at night or following a bubbly kids program.

That was my first response, and apparently, yeah. Never saw that last one, though I agree with fluffy that's it's way over the top.

I'm a fan of the Wyoming Incident and yeah, they did.
