So...Boston had the first PBS or something? How do I recognize this from 321 Contact without ever living on the west coast? There was no history here. You speak a litany of lies!

Aelric - 2009-06-19

err, east coast. I got to stop cruising this site drunk.

Billy the Poet - 2009-06-19

The big East Coast PBS stations in Boston, New York, and Philly produce a lot of the nationally-syndicated content. It's a different deal from commercial networks.

Ranma X. - 2009-06-19

Yeah. WGBH, in particular, makes a lot of the PBS KIDS! Content.

zatojones - 2009-06-19

MONSTERS OF PUBLIC TELEVISION TOUR

splatterbabble - 2009-10-11

Yeah, I was thinking there would be some explanation about it, but no. No "history" and no "trauma". What am I going to tell my parents?

BHWW - 2009-06-19

Yeah, traumatizing PUSSY kids...it's a logo that goes doodly-doo-doodly-doo-doodly-doo. What's to be scared of?

Tuan Jim - 2009-06-19

I'm not sure why anyone would be scared, either.

Menudo con queso - 2009-06-19

Anyone who doesn't understand that this is clearly the sight and sound of the glowing alien insect robot army coming out of the absolute darkness to blind you just before they tear your brain apart needs an imagination transplant.

Stog - 2009-06-19

I always imagined it to be the last ember of the fire that consumed the world and everything in it.

Big Beef Burritos Supreme - 2009-06-19

It's the sound of bubbling, heart stopping terror, you moon unit. This is the sound of a child overwhelmed by horror, and by association this is the symbol it has taken.

Of course to an adult it's excitement, and to an autist, nothing at all.

rastarat - 2009-06-19

I lived in Boston as a kid and agree this was horrifying. Also got home just in time to see the credits / wormhole horror of Dr. Who, never saw the actual show.

Keefu - 2009-06-19

It is an explosion of alien electronic noise accompanied by stark neon lighting. If you are 3 or 4 or whatever, this is pretty affecting. It especially helps if you are watching it at night or following a bubbly kids program.

chumbucket - 2009-06-19

GAME OVER YEEEAAAAAAHHHH!

Tuan Jim - 2009-06-19

Great Blue Hills

Hooper_X - 2009-06-19

They changed it?! Ever?

Ranma X. - 2009-06-19

That was my first response, and apparently, yeah. Never saw that last one, though I agree with fluffy that's it's way over the top.

JSP - 2009-06-19

Not getting the trauma thing. I believe there is a problem but it does not lie with the logo.

revdrew - 2009-06-19

Yeah, that sound wasn't too child friendly. I always found the V of Death and especially the ITC Entertainment logos to be far more traumatizing, though.

fluffy - 2009-06-19

That last one is just ridiculous.

Sputum - 2009-06-19

Didn't they play the synth line from this backwards to make these screwed up videos?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBHkW0aKHRc

It was part of an ARG on SA and these were supposed to be pirate broadcast on wyoming local news.

Anyway, I like the bleeps and bloops, so four marks.

Keefu - 2009-06-19

I'm a fan of the Wyoming Incident and yeah, they did.

Doctor Arcane - 2009-06-19

I never really found this scary as a child. The Yip Yips on the other hand....

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-06-19

It sounds like an incredibly angry computer, which I can imagine frightening the Hell out of a small child.

Desidiosus - 2009-06-20

?SYNTAX ERROR RAAAAARRR

Koda Maja - 2009-06-20

5 stars for the death metal-ish "Boston!" at the end.

Pillager - 2009-06-20
