The videos and interviews are interesting but the actual published articles and narratives are fantastic. There's three chapters to it. Pulitzer material.
This newspaper is going to get a lot of harassment and litigation. Plus they're only a few miles away from Clearwater. They've been doing this kind of reporting on Scientology for decades so I think they're ready.

Holy shit, Marty's alive!?
No one knew what happened to that guy. The Church struck him from all records and mentions, essentially erasing him. It was really sinister.
People thought he was dead. I guess he just ran like Hell and was in hiding all this time.
By the way being 'shipped out' is REALLY bad, hence why the 'musical chairs' game got violent.
|
Jeriko-1 - 2009-06-22 For anybody who doesn't already know it goes like this:
The Leaders of the Church have this 'thing' that they do. You hear 'SP' being tossed around, but for non Scilons this is just a couple of letters. It means a fuck of a lot more to somebody in the Church.
As you may recall when you are punished (shipped out), they put you on those ships in work detail. People endure sub-human conditions and work themselves to exhaustion. And this is done without any kind of resistance from those being 'rehabilitated'. Just how is this possible?
Well, for all of you comic book nerds the leaders have brainwashed their followers into believing that they possess something akin to a version of Darkseid's 'Omega Sanction'. That at a word you can be condemned to an eternity of miserable lives with no escape. And those so heavily indoctrinated to believe this would do ANYTHING to avoid such a fate.
And in that context it makes that 'musical chairs' shit so utterly, brutally sick. 'Darkseid' was making his underlings play musical chairs to see who got sent to Hell...
|
nutbush - 2009-06-22 He's right. Amy Scobee talks about the 'Rehabilitation Project Force' in the 6th video here: http://tampabay.com/specials/2009/reports/project/scobee.shtml
Just the name of the program alone sounds Orwellian. Then she gets to the 'Running Program' ... Holy shit.
Miscavige is an sick, sadistic man. He's 5'5" and seems to have some serious "short man needs to impose" issues. Probably why he gets along so well with Tom Cruise.

That picture of Miscavige in front of a world map is 5 stars itself. He's an important little man... 'yes you are poopykins'.

The Tommy Davis response video is also hilarious. He actually calls Rathburn "the whole-track prison warden"!

They've already lost the war of public opinion, they just haven't figured that out yet, because they're in their self-sufficient paranoid-schizophrenic "EVERYTHING IS AWESOME YAY" bubble-o-denial.
|
Witty_Pop_Culture_Reference - 2009-06-22 I really think it is quite cruel and unfair to equate scientologists with an entire group of people (paranoid schizophrenics) who are clearly degraded by the association. What did the schizophrenics ever do to you?
|
phalsebob - 2009-06-24 Well they stole my moon hats so now the zionists can read my mind. Maybe you're one of them.

Enjoy - 2009-06-22
I often go between feeling bad for Scientologists to just laughing at them. Miscavige especially. I mean how does one turn into such a tremendous cunt as to make his followers play musical chairs and beat them silly?

I am almost afraid to leave a negative Scientology comment. I am sure if I do I won't be around tomorrow. Great find.

In Marty Rathbun #5. Command and control, he mentions the Kitty Genovese case. There is a good radio documentary about this on BBC radio 4.

Thanks Nutbush for sharing this.

kamlem - 2009-06-22 Holy shit, the response is insane!
|
kamlem - 2009-06-22
The response #5: There were witnesses to it...
So either Marty was telling the truth and Miscavige is a sadistic violent thug and COS is a nasty cult, or the COS is correct and the organisation covers up endemic violence within their compounds without police intervention...
I'm sure it's not black and white but it's definitely not a good position for the COS.

I don't get why they just don't kill Miscavige, say he went on retreat, and then make policy whatever they want in his name.
Who would really ever feel bad about doing that?

Big Muddy - 2010-08-17
It's just like any religion now with it's own share of acolytes & zealots, only Miscavige has the means to single out these people for their austere sovereignty that no outside influence can penetrate. There's probably something more to it but more and more I just see it as stupid plebes trying to score points with the boss.
