Secondly, Coke, and possibly Pepsi as well, only produce a syrup concentrate, which is sold to various bottlers throughout the world who hold franchises for one or more geographical areas.

It's up to the individual bottler to determine the sweetness of the drink.

So the same soda, even in the same country, could taste different.

In addition to this the syrup can be made from different things. In the good ol U.S.A. its high fructose corn syrup. I believe in Poland they use sugar beets(and coke taste better there).
