Who the hell has a washer and dryer in their kitchen? And why does she open the washer lid like 3 inches?

long before houses were built to accomodate a washer and dryer, washers were made to get their water from a nearby sink, you can see a short bit of hose running to the front. the lid was limited to how far it could open to give clearance to this hose connection, which is of course the perfect level to hit your head against if youre not paying attention.
