1) it looks technically too good for a 60s ad.
2) it looks like it's just made in weird in 60s style, but what producer would've paid for this in the 60s?
3) it's got stuff that would've never gotten through to TV or movie theaters in the 60s

Its a real late-60s attempt to regain market share (and hipness) by an old brand that was too strongly flavored (and caffenated: it had more caffeine than Jolt) to compete with Coke & Pepsi. They enlisted artist Charles Wilp to design and film them, and he wanted US GI garage band The Monks to do the soundtrack. Their management rejected the offer, so Wilp did it himself in the style of Penderecki, who was all the rage. Less lubricious commercials from this campaign like:

Probably were the only ones aired in prime time, but I could see this placed before a screening of "I am Curious Yellow."
