I don't like AS but this was a nice movie.
And nice recycling of Popeye song.

He has a red tie on at 1:10 and a yellow tie on at 1:48, red tie returns at 2:18.
I notice this because Blue suit, red tie, white shirt is the uniform at IBM and wearing anything else there is rewarded by looks of disdain and confusion.

Apparently I didn't get it either and this is like 10 minutes so fuck it. Where do I fast forward to to see Adam Sandler flail around and scream?

This might piss some of the you guys off, but I love this movie.

"Cinemascore, a Los Angeles based audience polling service noted Punch Drunk Love was the lowest scoring film in every age and gender demographic in their thirty year history."

One of my favorite movies ever. PTA is one of the few directors ever who can include totally corny elements in his movies and actually pull it off. I still don't know how he does it.
The silhouette shot is an all-time great.

The only good Adam Sandler movie.

|
Old_Zircon - 2016-02-26 I like Going Overboard because it's so phenomenally incompetent on all levels that it's almost surreal. The whole plot is "hey, if we say we're making a movie we can get investors to pay for us and all our friends to go on a cruise and just film some spectacularly lazy ad libbing to fulfill our contract."
So it set the Sandler formula from the very beginning.

1. I need to see this film
2. This is pretty much the first time I've recognized almost every location in a film.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-07-25
I honestly thought that Adam Sandler deserved to win best actor for this film but wasn't even nominated, probably because people simply equated him with all of his other crappy films ie the Waterboy. This film however is sheer brilliance on its commentary towards American society.

I watched the whole movie without realizing that was Bess and had to watch it again immediately after finding out.
Adam Sandler is wonderful in this. He's perfect.

This was Sandler's gateway to legitimacy, be it in acting, comedy, whatever. He could have pulled a Bill Murray and went from crap comedies to better things and he blew it by going right back to SNL reject movies. Still, I enjoy this movie as it is.

Aelric - 2009-07-25 OH, and to respond to the inevitable defense of Bill Murray, You cannot say that he was happy where his career was before Rushmore. The Man Who Knew Too Little felt like a suicide note.
