Just went to dinner with my mother today, and her beau assures me this is not due to global warming or any of that hooey. Prior to about two years ago, I had never heard of a tornado anywhere within 100km of Toronto. I did not bother bringing that up.
Tornados in Toronto? Not that I'm aware of. But around Toronto? More than you'd think. We had one an hour north of T.O. 25 years ago that did a helluva lot of damage. And there have been others since.
Go back and review the "storm chaser" vids on POETV. Canadians have nothing on good ol' American stupid, especially when cameras, trucks, and weather are involved.
For all the comments about how dumb Torontonians are when confronted by a fucking funnel cloud: this is a thing we only know about from TV. HEY I BET I CAN FLY TO KANSAS!
When there is 5mm of snow in Georgia and 90 people die in car accidents, we mock in the same way. It is nature's circle of mock.
this isnt even toronto though - its a terrible, terrible suburb (woodbridge) located 30 minutes from the city and is basically the canadian version of new jersey
