Jeff Fries Traumatizing children really is Robert Zemeckis' forte. Even in movies he produces, like Monster House, he makes sure there's a scene where the mean old man has a heart attack and apparently falls dead on top of the protagonist.
Time Travel Mishap Monster house freaked me out as a adult. Seriously...i have no clue why but when the house got up and started chasing them....*shudders*. No clue why either...i watch lots of horror crap but that fucking house just scared me dammit.
Syd Midnight TBQH that's about the same level of mindfuckery as an old Fleischer Bros cartoon, or a particularly inspired 1940s Looney Tunes. Cartoons are meant to be terrifying sometimes.
