There are some things Microsoft should just accept that their competitor has cornered the market on. "Computer choice as douchebag identity" most certainly belongs to Mac.
Now, don't confuse the company with the fanboys (or the brand). This stuff is about a tenth of MS's revenue, most of which is split between Windows at home, Windows on servers, and things like Office and Sharepoint. But I think as they go forward they are trying to hedge a little by moving resources toward hardware projects (like Xbox) and web advertising.
The people in that store though? Yeah, huge complex. I don't know why people play faves with tech companies, I like tech but fanboyism is skeevy. Can you imagine the nerd rage if Apple did another Pippin now?
