There is a game for GP2X and Wiz called Snake on Dope. All of the music is chiptune versions of Bob Marley songs and the more pellets you eat, the wavier it gets.
It's really fun since the waving gives it a some extra drama beyond the usual long tail, but it's weird when you die and the screen goes straight. Feels like you just un-took a shit.

Way better than any hack I tried making. I'd love to know what he used to pull off some of those effects. Even on simple things my hack attempts would crash and burn, or glitch out and never be the same. Doing all THIS and it's stable, just blows my mind.

fluffy Yeah, there's no way to do this with just a romhack. It's probably a modified emulator, or even more likely an entirely new codebase which just uses ripped sprites and sounds.
