Hey guess what, FoxNews is an entertainment product. People tune into it because it mimics its newspaper equivalent, those large-fonted, sensational posts that Murdoch so craftily engineers to appeal to people that prefer shocking and clever headlines to actual news and critical thinking.

I don't understand why you can't understand that this is completely fabricated. People are laughing at you right now.

What isn't fabricated is Glenn Beck's level of insanity. He really is a very fucked up man, but he makes Fox lots of money. In order to make even more money, Murdoch assigned Shep to be the anti-hero in the little game that the studio heads invented.

In a year, Murdoch will publish Shep's first book (under HarperCollins, probably): "Wise Guy: How Shep Smith Shepherded Truth to FoxNews" and it will sell 5 million copies. Then Shep will have his own program somewhere, if Murdoch thinks the formula works.

I dunno...I want to believe bad enough that Shep is a spanner in the works over at Fox and that the management freaks out every time he says something like this, BUT...

It probably really is a symptom of 24 hour news and Fox in particular lowering the level of debate to pro wrestling.

I think you mean just 'a disingenuous prick'. A doppelganger is like a clone or something. Unless I missed the jist of the comments are we are all in agreement that Shep is a creature of Germanic folklore and not just a douchebag playing a role.

At least Shep does a better job playing this role than does Juan Williams and Greta Van Sustern.

Funny how they are both supposed to represent liberal voices yet seem to agree with Republican hosts/politicians more so than not.
