I like the movie but I hate Sam Neill. He can't even breathe naturally, so this clip could probably use an "ACTING" tag.

The movie has some ups and downs, but i find myself enjoying it more and more after all these years. It's clever and creative, two things most horror movies of the last 10 years haven't been able to accomplish at all.

I'm sorry but saying Lovecraft was a hack writer is just fucking stupid. Hack writers, buy definition, make lots of money by writing continuous loads of crap and catering to the lowest common denominator. Lovecraft lived in near poverty his entire life writing the kind of weird fiction he earnestly loved and had a passion for and, as a result, was tremendously respected by many fellow writers for his contributions to the art form.
You know absolutely nothing about horror/weird fiction.

That said, this is a good movie.

Preach it, brother.

"Lovecraft was a racist misanthrope influenced by the prevailing thought of his time and a deeply traumatic family life and also a brilliant writer with an awkward, idiosyncratic prose style" just isn't as snappy, though.

More like "... a guy with some decent ideas who couldn't actually write about them to save his life, so actually yeah pretty much miserably talentless but hey remember polyhedral dice!"
