Agreed. This commercial would have been a lot more awesome if Tarantino had been replaced with the two micro twins from Mothra and some precocious children.

QT made Jackie Brown in 1997. Kurosawa died in 1998. After that it's just been downhill.

Seriously though, yes. I just watched Ikiru again the other day and the fact that a movie about a man dying slowly of stomach cancer is one of the best feel good movies ever is a testament to how damn great Kurosawa was.

The only problem there is that Jackie Brown was also unbearable.
