Not at all a "savage beatdown". I'm surprised she let him repeatedly use words such as "healing" and "cure", which imply that homosexuality is an illness.
Because on one hand, he claims to only be selling help and advice to people who are making the choice to try to live a heterosexual lifestyle, or to at least minimize their homosexual urges, and on the face, I don't think that's a bad thing. I don't think it's likely or even possible to change your sexual orientation, but if you really wanted to fake it, I suppose that's your choice and if some people want to help you, that's their choice, too.
But calling it "healing" implies that there is something WRONG with homosexuality, which is a whole other kettle of fish - THAT is perhaps the most powerful message that is being used in Uganda. Implying that homosexuals are diseased flies in the face of his supposedly "compassionate" and "loving" message. I'm really disappointed that Maddow didn't pounce on that.
