Awesome. Now they need to figure out a way to rework this joke next year for Hanukkah.

Seriously, why aren't there more shows like this?

The whole Xmas special DVD is awesome and totally worth picking up.

Seconding this. I was worried that it might be lame gimmickry but it is fantastic.

This is the best thing on Sunny since Nightman.
Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2010-01-02
shit, now santa's a vampire too!
IrishWhiskey - 2010-01-02
It struck me more as zombie, although now I really want to see an Always Sunny about Twilight. Dennis would make a perfect 'Edward'.

The sparkly vampire from Twilight uses the D.E.N.N.I.S. method if that helps.

the man who plays charlie is an unsung hero

he is so much like jason lee that his inevitable career endpoint is going to be the remake of the alvin and the chipmunks remake.

dr_rock - 2010-01-03
I don't see the Jason Lee connection at all.

Of all the days of the year, Charlie's mom chose Christmas to be a whore. Macs face at 4:05 is priceless.
HankFinch - 2010-01-02
I like this show a lot, but I always thought there was something off about it. It seems like the show is written for an adult cartoon, then made into a live show.
Cleaner82 - 2010-01-02
Charlie put on a brave front, but I think it all effected him more than he let on.
tenten - 2010-01-02
All the text in the clip is reversed. I thought maybe it was because Charlie is illiterate and the text was screwed up in the flashback, but it was reversed in the mall, too.
dr_rock - 2010-01-03
It's not this way on the DVD. The person who put this up here did something funny with the video.

This clip validates my decision to not purchase the christmas dvd. I just knew it would be like this. "Sunny" started out as a pretty damn funny show, about believably idiotic and self-absorbed people who got into seinfeldian hijinx as a result of their flawed personalities. The episode where Dee marries Frank as a plot to get money is a perfect example of this.

But now all the characters are such extreme versions of themselves, Charlie in particular, that the show ceases to be at all believable and thus not funny. The Gang is responsible for kidnapping people, destroying an innocent family's home, and now killing(?) a santa in the mall. It's just gotten way too crazy to be that funny to me anymore. It has its moments, sure, but I think they should scale back on the wacky and focus more on plot if they want to stick around.

For what it's worth, I agree with you. The problem is the characters have become too amoral. What characterized the show at first was a sort of group amorality, where no character was ever smart enough to question what another character was saying, so one initial stupid suggestion would just pile out of control through endless group re-affirmation. There's still some of that in the show, but now, all the characters are just monsters. The show's still worth watching, but season 3 was the last truly great season.

Camonk - 2010-01-20
It's understandable, but every single comedy show does this. Even ones that start out crazy.

Camonk - 2010-01-20
God I loved this thing.
Camonk - 2010-03-08
PS seriously don't sneak up on Mac!
