atheistgirl The Doctor pretty much always gets 5 stars.
Spring is too long to wait!
Camonk I've never been a fan of this show. But this new Doctor looks to have been hand-crafted to make me want to punch him to death.
minimalist I'm strangely at ease with Matt Smith as the Doctor. Despite his slightly freakish looks, there's much more naturalism to Smith's expressions and movements, which I appreciate a lot.
It's definitely preferable to Tennant's cartoonish mugging (which I don't blame on Tennant, he's obviously a superb actor, it's just that his Doctor was written/directed in the laziest of ways).
Candlejackv616 I see the new doctor is sporting a Tucker Carlson like look...ok then.
StanleyPain So they're bringing back Silurians. Huh...kind of a weird, uninteresting race to bring back, but whatever. I'm all for the new season...bring it on. Moffat is already touting the fact that he wants the show to get back to being more like Doctor Who i.e. self contained stories without shit tons of referencing older episodes and events, nowhere near as much soap opera-y bullshit, and more stories taking place in space as opposed to every thing bad in the universe constantly revolving around the Doctor's little group of in-laws or whatever.
Desidiosus That sounds promising, but I'm concerned Smith is just Tennant with no eyebrows.
Also, I hate these trailers that are just ten milliseconds of action from one thing interspersed with ten more from other things. Give me a trailer where I get a full summary and then I don't have to watch the actual show.
"We will EX-TER-MI-NATE your lies Ba-rakk O-ba-ma!"
Syd Midnight I was getting into it but then I watched the related "Rowan Atkinson as The Doctor" and I was sad
Doctor Arcane Do they need a new doctor every fucking season? WTF?
SDAusmus Uh, Tennant played the role for over 4 years and nearly 50 episodes.
ProfessorChaos Still, the show could use a doctor who stays with the series for a VERY long time. I feel like neither Eccleston or Tennant were quite... Iconic enough.
Although, maybe comparing them to Tom Baker is unfair.
dead_cat Isn't the Doctor like at his last incarnation, or something? I'm kind of curious what they'll do when this new actor quits.
BiggerJ Third-last or second-last, depending on whether you count a certain incident, lesser nerd.
IrishWhiskey They threw in a line in an episode recently saying that the Doctor has unlimited regenerations. Because fuck continuity.
duck&cover Oh noes, Doctor Who has the acromegaly.
Rovin Steven Moffat has been the consistently best fairly regular writer on this show. By contrast, Davies has been the worst. Smith may look like a too-young doof, but Moffat deserves the chance.
